- I should credit my Mother-in-Law for introducing me to these little miraculous leaves in London. Having said that I have not had it in my own city Mangalore and I realised how we now fancy eating a ready made meal or going to a new restaurant that has just opened and trying the specials on the menu. It was a coincidence that we had gone to a Tamilian supermarket in Wembley, London back in 2009 and she picked these leaves and told me they are very good to improve your memory. For a minute I thought I was tricked. These fan like looking little green leaves are going to improve my memory? no way. So I eat it not even having a second thought of the health benefits as it tasted good.As I was curious to know more about these leaves, after 4 years I paid a visit to this grocery store and found these ayurvedic leaves nice and fresh ready to be cooked. Having done a little bit of research on them it is proved that they might help to increase certain brain chemicals that help us in thinking, learning and memorising. So I thought as it is lent why not try a traditional dish of preparing a chutney out of these miraculous leaves as I really need something to boost my memory.
